NO ONE ASKED

No one asked... but I'm going to tell anyway.  When Scott and I were chasing waterfalls last week, Kiara, Cody and Skittles went to Idaho to attend a wedding.  Yes, we missed "our red-head!"  He has been attached to grandpa and I since returning to Kentucky... and we are soaking in every minute of it!  Here are the adorable pics I was sent of their trip:

Passenger on a Plane
Loving the "river" behind Grandma Mil's house...
Dancing at the firepit.
I think Cody is teaching him a pagan ritual?!  Just kidding!
Spending fun time with mom!
Aunt GJ LOVED Skittles!  And he loved her!
Especially the cow tails!  :-)
Kotten Kandy and Skittles is the perfect amount of sweetness!
They had so much fun together!
He sure loves his aunt!
Kiara sprinkled sleeping dust on the back seat so the drive to the wedding was peaceful!
Even Spiderman slept.
Congratulations, Spencer!!!!!
I'm just glad Skittles is back with grandma and grandpa - where he belongs.  :-)  And I must say I'm jealous that he got to see Katia, my parents, my sister, my brothers, Skylar, the Schmids, etc. etc. etc.

CHASING WATERFALLS IN KENTUCKY - VACAY DAY 3

We a LOT on Friday.  The waterfalls in Kentucky are more spread apart.  But we enjoyed jamming to 80s tunes, snacking on trail mix, reading Brad Wilcox's new book, and visiting.  The hiking was still exhausting and difficult, but definitely worth it!  There are truly some gorgeous places in this state we call home.  We also saw a lot of the back roads... so interesting to see how people live in different parts of the United States (even in our own "backyards" so to speak.)

Our Adventure
This guy makes me smile!
Cumberland Falls
Both views were breath taking!
Cumberland Falls was roaring and majestic.
So much beauty!
Flat Lick Falls
I loved the simple-ness of this waterfall.
On our way to Creation Falls, we found this beautiful, natural bridge.
Creation Falls was aptly named.
Us
Scott thinking he was younger than he is climbed up for a picture!
Scott loved the color studies in these leaves.
And I was intrigued by the many mushrooms we saw.

It was such a wonderful trip! I'm so grateful for these brief three days with my eternal companion!  We felt rejuvenated.  And loved exploring the Lord's great wonders!

CHASING WATERFALLS IN TENNESSEE - VACAY DAY 2

Do you remember the 80s song by TLC, "Don't Go Chasing Waterfalls"?  Well... we did not take their advice.  We decided we wanted to see ALL the waterfalls we could in the space of two days.  We started in Tennessee.

Best Friends Forever!
At Burgess Falls we saw 3 different falls.  All were lovely!

Humble...
God's beauty persists...
While the hanging bridge crumbled.
Splendid
We were there!
Then we went to Fall Creek Falls (which was a 256 foot drop, and the highest waterfall east of the Rocky Mountains.)  The hike was extremely strenuous (lots of rocks and very steep) but we made it to the bottom of the falls.

Lovely
Spectacular
Stunning - both Scott and the rocks!
We also saw Ozone Falls.... Hanging bridges are scary to me... but I crossed both of them.

The smoky mountains!
I couldn't believe that was humidity and not smoke.
Incredible!
Shaky
Silo
Bear rug
Wonder
God loves green!
Wow!
And we finished day 2 in the pouring rain with my favorite fall of the day: Twin Falls.  GORGEOUS!  God is such a magnificent artist!

Resplendent
We took many showers this day.
One in the hotel.
3-4 from the humidity
One from standing under the waterfall.
And this one because it was pouring!
Brilliant
Apparently these vines are sort of a plague.
The grow over EVERYTHING: trees, vehicles, homes, etc.
But I thought they were terrifying and beautiful.
I saw vine giants in every "structure."
I'm sooooo grateful Heavenly Father has created such a magnificent world for us to enjoy.  It's hard not to worship God when you are surrounded by His creations!  God is good!

GARDENS AND GODDESSES - VACAY DAY 1

Scott and I needed a vacation.  So we decided to hit the road.  We had a couple of destinations in mind, but no idea where we might end up.  Day one: Tennessee.  We first went to Cheekwood Mansion and Gardens.  It was ah-may-zing!  Scott and I love walking through gardens and admiring the beauty of the plants, flowers, designs, and ponds.  Heavenly Father has given us so much beauty to enjoy!  We are blessed!  They also had some fun Lego displays throughout the gardens.  People are so creative.

Me and my eternal cutie!

We LOVED this quote by Aristotle
This sculpture is called "Silent Music"
From the side it looked like he was holding a cello...
The color garden
This doesn't do justice for all the colors....
So many shades of green!
Gazebos
Fountains
Sculptures
I found his head!
The mansion... and the swan pond
Windows
LIBRARIES!  :-)

After Cheekwood, we went to the Parthenon.  I really enjoyed brushing up on my Greek mythology.   I always enjoyed the stories.  Athena was spectacular.  And Scott and I really enjoyed the artwork of Lynn Goldsmith.  Her collection is called "Through the Looking Glass."  For some reason it "stuck" with me.

We ended the evening exhausted.  We walked over 5 miles in the heat with lots of humidity.  I think I got a little bit of sun poisoning because I felt sick.  But it was a beautiful day.  And the best part was spending time with my favorite person in the whole wide world!
