I am blogging today with a contrite heart. I don't know how I managed to miss blogging for over 6 weeks. I have been keeping busy with a music studio consisting of 10 students, subbing for seminary at least 3-5 days a month, planning and executing a motivating and spiritual music experience for our ward's primary, working with a group of women to make a fun monthly Relief Society activity, teaching a weekly pre-school music class, reading and attending book club meetings, etc. etc. etc. I need to make this blog a priority (according to a couple of my readers) but it seems to be pushed back and back, and then I have to write a post like this:
Here's the last 8 weeks (in pictures) with a LITTLE commentary:
Our Annual Blue Party
The whole crew at the Blue Party
I sure love these people I'm spending life with!
Guess who came to visit?!
Mango and her Mama
Oh... and Jude.
Katia took this picture for bribery purposes.
It's proof that I will actually walk a dog.
But these two are the real reasons I'm so happy!
I love baby snuggles!
And weeks with Katia wouldn't be complete without Red Robin OR Slim Chickens...
She loves good food!
Mango wasn't sure about my rocking dragon.
Grandpa loves Mango too!
Isn't she adorable?!
Don't worry, I'm teaching her right! Diet Coke is where it's at!
Guess who turned 80 in February?!
My Dad!!!!
GJ and I embarrassed him at his humanitarian work with cookies, a balloon and a song.
We also made him homemade lasagna (Mom's recipe).
And dad loves Mark Twain... hence, the shirt.
And my active father was pruning his roses for a good chunk of his birthday.
I love this great man who raised me.
He is brilliant (don't let him know I said that) and kind and one of my best friends!
Sooooo, I guess I need to admit that I'm weird.
Scott finds it funny that I cross stitch wearing two glasses.
To be fair, the black glasses are magnifiers.
Yes, I'm getting old.
We got snow in February. It was lovely.
But I still don't like it. I don't like being cold.
Check out my new yellow earrings!
My friend turned nine!
Happy Birthday, Lobster!
And my niece's middle daughter was the lead role in her school play.
She is excellent!
The Red Queen from Alice in Wonderland never looked better.
And she even managed to embarrass her sisters on stage
getting them to "play the roles" of the arches for croquet.
Alright... time for Mango overload!
She loves smoothies!
Too cute!
The Tigger is bigger than her.
"Thanks, Aunt Kiodo, for the crocheted toy!"
Watch out! She's mobile!
"Daddy is the best!"
Katia says, "How am I supposed to get any work done?"
She's 6 months in this picture!
She's 7 months is this picture!
And she loves tomatoes!
She takes after her grandma!
And my other grandchild!
Red Skittle loves baking.
He loves Kindergarten.
He loves Minecraft.
And he loves reading.
He also loves his cousin, Mango.
He is an artist.
He loves reading the scriptures... by himself.
(Yes, he is reading aloud a verse of scripture in this picture.)
And Red Skittle loves music and dancing.
He's definitely got the moves!
And the confidence!
And cute parents!
GJ and I are getting ready to start our own business.
We'll be at the Meridian Farmer's Markets every week in April
and every other week the rest of the season. Come check us out!
I'm making all sorts of jams, jellies and salves.
GJ is specializing in infused honey and garlic products.
We're excited for this new adventure!
Stay tuned for: The Sun Kissed Homestead!
Welllllllll, that's the news from the DeGooyers. I'll try to be better about posting in the future.
