BLUES BE GONE!

We have had a WONDERFUL January.  But also a very busy one!  I haven't blogged in forever because I've been working (both music lessons and taking school pictures) and spending time with my family and communicating with my Idaho (soon to be Kentucky) son and daughter and party-ing with my dear friends and attending an amazing baptism, etc. etc. etc.
Where should I begin?!
Kiara and Cody are moving to Kentucky February 3rd!  I can't wait to have them close!  I can't wait to love on them - and my future grandson!  They are excited too... And isn't my daughter's baby bump adorable?!  I can't wait to meet my "Snicker Doodle!"  (I'm thinking that will be his blog moniker...  😁)  They will also miss their dear friends, the Blacks.  They spent the first Friday in January playing with them:

So Scott, Katia and I decided we needed to try a new restaurant here in Shelbyville: Milanos.  It was DELICIOUS!  The calzones were bigger than Scott's head.  And my sandwich was so good - that we will definitely be going again!  I hope they get LOTS of business.  (I love spontaneous "dates" with my husband and daughter!)
We are practicing our selfie-game!
Two weeks ago we HAD to have a Hunger Games Marathon complete with a trip to Steak and Shake for lunch.  It was a fun day with Amy, Marmalade, Kotten Kandy and myself.  And The Hunger Games has really enriched our lives.  We have had so many great conversations about ethics, morals, and ideals because of Susanne Collin's story.  Best books ever!
Waiting for Hamburgers!

For Christmas I got Pandemic Legacy.  It's a game to be played over an entire year with two couples.  It's fun!  It's crazy!  It changes!  And it's extreme!  We had to play with the Bettenhausens.  We started... and it's intense.  Can't wait to play every other Thursday night!  😆
We lost... then we won!
It was truly stressful!
Red is non-curable!
But at least we can treat the symptoms still!
Lovin' this game!
And last night, we celebrated with friends with a "Post Holiday Blues" party!  It was soooo much fun!  We love these people!  They are my "tribe!"  Scott and I had so much fun decorating in blue.  And coming up with our menu:  chicken cordon BLEU, salad with BLUE cheese dressing and BLUE cheese crumbles, BLUEberry muffins, BLUE corn chips with pico, and BLUE Hawaiian punch with Ginger-ale - dessert = BLUEberry cobler.  Yummmmm!  And we played Loaded Questions (the winner got Smuckers BLUEberry Preserves.  I also had a fun time creating a blues playlist.  (My dad's blues were featured, along with B.B. King, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, etc.)  I love this wonderful group of friends!  I count my blessings for each of them!  And I thank Heavenly Father for their friendships!
I spent all day getting ready!
It was worth it!
I had so much fun coming up with BLUE stuff....

Today we got to attend a baptism for Michallea.  She is truly awesome!  And she makes me smile!  She's another one of my kids from the YSA!  I'm so blessed to be serving with these amazing kids!  And I am truly grateful I get to call them MINE!  Sister Morris and Sister McEvoy are incredible!  I want them to be my girls for real!  And their special musical number with Kiera brought tears to my eyes!  (Kiera is a recent "adoption" to my kids list!  😉)  I'm blessed!
Michaellea
Her sweet testimony makes me cry!
She's a terrific asset to our YSA branch!
I love these sweet girls!

I guess this post is proof that we need each other as people!  I really believe that we need to love and serve and be with each other!  I'm grateful for all the people in my life!  Another person I "NEED" is Raisin!  She loves selfies... and the last picture is her wishing for warm weather.  She was "at the beach with her CUMBRELLA!"  She really makes me smile!
Raisin has my heart!
