OODLES TO CATCH UP ON

What a busy two weeks!  But it's been a happy busy.

The last part of our vacation to Arizona and Utah was spent with the DeGooyers!  It was AWESOME to spend time with Scott's family!  We visited, laughed, reminisced, etc.  It was wonderful to reconnect.  We sure do love our crazy, terrific family!

Kiara and Cody got a puppy.  They named her Syl.  She's cute... but whiney.

And Zane and Tara took my daughter to lunch!  She LOVED seeing them!  It was the highlight of her week!  She couldn't stop talking about how wonderful it was!

Zane snapped this photo for me!
And here's a quick preview of Scott's and my Halloween costumes!  Peanut Butter and Jelly!

This might be one of the easiest costumes we've ever done...
But it's also one of my favorites!

SISTER DeGOOYER - WEEK 69

To whom it may concern,
This week was interesting. Full of highs and lows; ups and downs. Good thing I'm a fan of roller coasters and gratefully the highs broke the atmosphere, and the downs didn't drop below sea level...
There were so many good moments! Between getting into a home that I have tried to get into since I've been here! That would've been good enough, but after a great lesson we found that they are ready to set the date for baptism!
And then I got to see my aunt, uncle and cousins, Shoutout to the Zane McCallister clan for coming to see me! It was so good to be with them for just a bit. I hadn't seen most of them in a little over 3 years, but family has a way of feeling like no time has passed.
We taught another amazing Restoration discussion. The Spirit was strong as we followed it's direction and even mentioned baptism and left them with an invitation to hit their knees!
Some really great comp studies and a dream every night! This week was incredible, despite some hard moments.
I finished the Book of Mormon just this morning, which as always is a sacred experience.  This time was probably one of my most favorite times, as I read it in a way I have never done before. I read it for my little friend, Joel. I was due to send it to him a month or two ago, but I wanted to take my time and make sure it was a present worth giving. It was neat to open every study, not only asking God to give me inspiration for the day and the people I would see, but also for one of my bestest friends back home. 😀 I have a firm testimony of the divinity of this book and I know that every account held within it's pages are true! It is by this book that we can not only understand our role in God's plan, but we can come to understand and know our Savior! Read this book! REad some of it everyday and your life will change verse by verse.
Have a great week! Happy Halloween!  HAPPY NANOWRIMO!

SISTER DeGOOYER - WEEK 68

(Mom asked specifically for these two pictures!)

Trio life always comes back, doesn't it? What's the saying: three times a bridesmaid, never a bride?  Well... Three times a trio, never a companion??  😉

Folks, Sister Brooks and I are moms! We have a daughter, named Sister Sifford, who is from Texas! She's a natural missionary and so fun and so sweet. We are gonna have a good time here in Poky!

Sister Sifford is probably my last companero! Knock on wood.  You never know what God's plans are! We are looking at Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years together!  HOPEFULLY! Sister Brooks will probably leave us beginning of November. 😢

We've had some amazing breakthroughs with our peeps this week! Thanks to our good luck charm, Sister Sifford! Prayers, please, for our transfer goal of 3 baptisms! the transfer ends in December, so please just pray like hte wind that has been blowing here in Poky the past 3 days!

Some highlights from this week:
*Coming up with video ideas and incorporating the Chariots of Fire theme song. COMING SOON.
*A bomb lesson with my favorite people in the entire world.
*Cleaning the bathrooms today -- that's my happy place.
*Beth gave me 15 books and two chocolate bars.
*We got rejected with burritoooooos! #bestrejectionEVER.
*We gave talks in Sacrament Meeting -- guys missionary work is SO good!
*I drank my first DR. PEPPER in 6 months... and I'm not addicted. 🙏

Life is good! It's hard but it's good! This work is THE greatest work on the earth today! Seriously, it's amazin! I love my life and my sister, Kiodo!

Oh and NaNo is coming soon and I figured out what I'm doing! I love you guys! (Y'all know who I'm talkin too.)

BEAUTIFUL DISTRACTIONS

Another fun day of spending time with us!  This morning we went to the London Bridge in Lake Havasu.  This is the actual bridge from the nursery rhyme.  How cool is that?!
"London Bridge is falling down..."
Apparently London always uses dragons... it's some kinda symbol.
Loved the fountain!
And Scott loved the phone booth.
Lions who spit water our tight!
When we see a big chair... we have to take a picture!
And you can see London Bridge in the background!
London Bridge Selfie
I loved this pottery decorated bench.  It reminded me of Isaac's bench!
Then we drove to Vegas for our favorite BBQ restaurant.  We discovered Lucille's when we lived in Vegas... and it has remained a favorite memory.  I'm glad it's still around and still just as delicious!
Lucille's YUMMMMM!
I've always loved their mason jar sodas!
And I love that they give warm towels to clean up!
We also decided to go to the Valley of Fire.  It was truly breath taking!  We wish we had spent more time there.  We would have loved to go hiking (except that it was H-O-T).  We did love the views and the drive.
It was spectacular... this sign doesn't do it justice!
Scott fell on his tooshy moments after this picture...
And unfortunately he broke phone's camera lens.
Love God's beauty!
And I love the holes in the rock... so unique.
There is beauty all around!
And how cool are these Indian petroglyphs?!
"For the beauty of the earth!
For the beauty of the skies!
For the love, which from our birth,
Over and around us lies!"
Scott and I really needed this vacation together.
BTW I've always loved flowers....  Here are a couple:
