SPRING AND TEVYE

I was so excited when I saw daffodils on Tuesday.  And then on Wednesday, Key Lime Pie took this picture of our tree in bloom:
And I captured the sunrise Thursday on my way to work:
God's creations are truly beautiful!  And I LOVE spring!
I just finished reading "Tevye The Dairyman and The Railroad Stories" by Sholem Aleichem.  I got this book for Christmas from my friend, Amy.  She knows that The Fiddler on the Roof is one of my all time favorite musicals, so she bought me the book that the musical is based on.  I really enjoyed it.  The 8 Tevye stores are my favorite.  They richly bring to life a world that has disappeared.  The characters became more real to me as I delved more into Tevye's life.  I laughed.  I cried.  I laughed through the tears.  The 20 Railroad stories that followed are highly enjoyable as well.  The connection of the stories is that they are stories observed by a Jewish, commercial traveler riding in the 3rd class railroad cars in Russia.  I liked all the stories.  Again, some were sad, and some made me laugh.  Sholem Aleichem is a charming author.  (BTW: this book was translated by Hillel Halkin.  It was originally written in Yiddish.)
And here's one more picture that I HAD to add because it shows two of my favorite girls with gorgeous smiles!  I love "my" Marmalade and Raisin!  (Thank you, Amy, for sharing!)
