IT'S A "BLAST!"

(Yes, I took this amazing photo....)
We are so blessed to live in such a beautiful state!  And one of the really fun things about Kentucky is Thunder Over Louisville!  If you aren't from Kentucky, you probably don't realize that a two minute horse race in May (the Kentucky Derby) is really a two week celebration.  We LOVE the kick-off:  Thunder Over Louisville (or Thunder, for short!)  It is the nation's largest annual fireworks event and it is also one of the top five air shows in the country.
We spent the day with good friends (the Schmids, the Bettenhausens and the Thorntons).  We also invited the Sister missionaries (with permission from their mission president).  We BBQed, visited, watched the amazing air show (which Lollipop REALLY was excited about - since she wants to be a pilot.), proselyted (Key Lime Pie and Kotten Kandy talked to 94 people with the Sisters), got sun-burned, and topped it all off with an AMAZING firework display.  We truly had a blast!  Saturday was a beautiful day and a beautiful set of memories were made...  And don't worry, I took lots of pics....  Check it out:
Kotten Kandy, the sisters, Rice Krispie, Key Lime Pie, Lollipop and Asparagus
Chillin' on the blanket....
Sheila, Mike and Asparagus - love this family!
A rare photo of "the boys!"  Usually I can't get pictures of these two AWESOME guys....

I love this man of mine!
We were all excited when the Bettenhausens joined us!
We love our Jelly Bean!  Don't we Key Lime Pie?!
These kids were raised as brothers and sisters!

OK...  These are some of my favorite guys ever!
(Scott is my favorite guy - but I would adopt these two boys in a heart-beat as my own sons!)
Asparagus is GREAT with babies - but he's not so sure....
I LOVED how the walking bridge kept changing colors in the twilight....  And I loved how the lights reflected in the water....

These sweet girls couldn't stop looking up to the sky....  They loved the air show... but they especially loved the firework display.  I sure love these girls!

  1. Wow! I like the colors on the bridge too. Tell Louisa they remind me of the burning of the castle in Heidleberg? Thunder really does sound like a fun event, and I'm glad you had such a great time... Mom/Mil
